Vesi vanhin voitehista is an exhibition that explores the deep significance of water in the Baltic Sea region through art, science, and history. Created by the John Nurminen Foundation and brought to life by Indevit, the experience shows how carefully crafted digital exhibitions can move hearts and minds – wherever the viewer may be.

The exhibition is based on a book of the same name, Vesi vanhin voitehista, with paintings by Sebastian Lindberg.

The exhibition is enriched with the imaginative paintings by visual artist Sebastian Lindberg.

The digital exhibition Vesi vanhin voitehista, created by the John Nurminen Foundation, tells the story of water – its cultural, emotional, and environmental importance, especially in the Baltic Sea region. With art, history, and science, the exhibition invites visitors to feel, think, and take action for the sea. Moving through the four seasons, the exhibition shows how water shapes our lives, culture, and environment – from ice and snow to rain, rivers, and the sea. The exhibition is enriched with the imaginative paintings by visual artist Sebastian Lindberg and the water-inspired lyrics an videos by artists Yeboyah, Hassan Maikal and Yrjänä.

Digital exhibitions can reach people everywhere, anytime. But they need to be carefully built – with visuals, design, and flow that bring the message to life on screen.

The project was a collaboration between John Nurminen Säätiö and Indevit, who have worked together before on the digital exhibitions Sodan Sumua and Baltic Sea Legacy.

John Nurminen Säätiö created the idea, content, and visual concept for the exhibition.

Indevit turned this vision into a working digital experience – designing and developing the platform to be smooth, inspiring, and easy to use.
